Maryland Art Place, in partnership with Hotel Indigo Baltimore is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Maryland-based artist, Heather Kirtland. The exhibition is on view at Hotel Indigo, located at 24 West Franklin St. from August 15 - November 14, 2024.  A public reception will take place Wednesday, October 2 from 6 to 9 pm.

About the artist: Heather Kirtland is an artist, author, speaker, and creative instigator. She received her BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and was a Maryland State Art Council Grant recipient that same year. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and in both Italy and Wales. In addition to her painting practice , Heather teaches encaustic, is a community founder at Carve Out Time for Art (33K) and published author of “The Motherhood of Art” selected as a 2021 Best New Book on Motherhood by Book Authority. Heather lives just outside of Baltimore with her husband, two children, and their dog.

Maryland Art Place (MAP), in partnership with Quinn Evans, is excited to announce EXCHANGE an exhibition exploring artworks centric to energy in relation to the built environment and examine the dynamic relationship between energy systems and architectural spaces, and how these interactions shape our daily lives, environments, and future.

This exhibition was inspired by the NOMA conference theme of Exchange and was curated by Quinn Evans staff members. A public reception in celebration of the work will be held on Tuesday, December 10 from 5 to 7 PM at Quinn Evans located at 100 N Charles St, Baltimore, MD 21201. Please RSVP via this LINK .
