Grace Hartigan: A Memorial Tribute

Athena’s Daughters 2010
Presented by Maryland Art Place and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Inner Harbor, Baltimore
Grace Hartigan (1922-2008), a celebrated Abstract Expressionist painter, bequeathed five exceptional paintings to Maryland Art Place (MAP) in 2009. MAP honors her gift in a special 2010 exhibition at The Ritz-Carlton Residences. Select events will celebrate Ms. Hartigan’s legacy as a painter and mentor for aspiring contemporary artists.
The Hartigan Gallery also features Athena’s Daughters 2010, two exhibitions of work by women artists that studied with Ms. Hartigan at MICA. Participants are Mina Cheon, Heather Barone, Allyson Smith, Jessica Damen, Lauren Sleat, Nicole Barrick, Elizabeth Wade, Dana Riefler Amato, Gloria Adams, Courtney Jordan and Sandra Parra.
