Thank you to everyone who attended and supported MAP’s fall benefit exhibition and gala, The Nude, held on Thursday, November 1, 2007. We are pleased to report that the event was a tremendous success, grossing over $124,000, and selling 78% of the artwork. Because MAP values the contributions and efforts of its artists, 40% of each sale will be returned to them. It is also important to note that proceeds from the event will directly support MAP’s ongoing programming and educational initiatives throughout the year.

This year’s Co-Chairs, Costas Grimaldis and Michel Modell, organized a most memorable evening, featuring an intimate seated dinner, open bar, and extraordinary entertainment. Highlights from the event include: a selection of silent films from the 1930s honoring the nude form; an improvisational performance by the Daniel Burkholder dance troupe; and a silent auction, which presented the opportunity to purchase work by thirty-five of the most highly regarded artists of the region.

MAP extends sincere appreciation to everyone involved in making the gala such a success, including: Gala Co-Chairs Costas Grimaldis and Michel Modell; Board of Trustees Chairperson Suzi Cordish; all of the participating artists; and our fabulous volunteers, without whom the event would not have been possible.
