Glen Echo Park: Artist Studio Space Available
The Glen Echo Park Partnership is currently circulating a Request for Proposals for one of the small yurt facilities for use as an individual artist studio space. The studio will be available starting March 1, 2012. I ask for your assistance in circulating this call as widely as possible to artists and interested organizations. Please post or circulate this information as appropriate. Images of the studio can also be found on the Partnership’s Facebook page, which you can link to from our website. Studio proposals are due on February 1, 2012.
EATON STREET STUDIOS
Eaton Street Studios seeks artists who want to develop a community arts and craft workspace. 307 S. Eaton Street features a secure environment, a single story accessible building and a great location within the Highlandtown Arts District. Eaton Street Studios strives to establish a productive environment for artisans, provide visibility for artists, and develop a gathering space for the Baltimore art community.
SPACE AMMENITIES
§ 17,000 square feet available for rent
§ Spaces will be equipped with electrical outlets and some spaces will have utility sinks
§ Common spaces of the building will include shared bathrooms, sinks, and community space. Community space will be used for meetings, networking, collaborating, and receptions. Eaton Street Studios plans to also develop a gallery space to serve as a visibility tool.
§ The site is located within the Highlandtown Arts District, one of two state designated Arts Districts in Baltimore City. The arts district boasts southeast's largest collection of retail and industrial spaces, along with affordable housing and a convenient location, easily accessible from I-95, I-895, Fells Point and Downtown.
RENT SPECIFICS
The spaces will be rented for .83 cents per sq. ft (e.g. $250 per month for 300 sq. ft.). STUDIO SPACE AT SCHOOL 33 ART CENTER
School 33 Art Center is now accepting applications for studio space. The monthly rent of $260 includes heat, air conditioning, and electricity. Each of the studios at School 33 Art Center is approximately 450 square feet and is suitable for working in a variety of media. The Studio Spaces may not be used as live-in space, but there is 24 hour access to the studios. Four studio spaces will be available January 1. Women's Studio Workshop:
Studio Access Program is available for artists to rent studio space in intaglio, papermaking, screenprinting, printshops, clay studio, and the darkroom. WSW's 5,000 square feet of studio space has been carefully designed to localize work and printing areas. Each of the printmaking studios and the papermaking studios have plenty of natural light and direct access to the outdoors.
