Out of Order, MAP’s Infamous Free Hung Benefit Exhibition, Silent Auction and Party Returns!

Silent Auction and Gala: 8 pm, April 13, 2007

Baltimore, MDMaryland Art Place (MAP) is pleased to announce that Out of Order, its much-anticipated free-hung benefit exhibition, silent auction and party has returned!

Scheduled for 8 pm, Friday, April 13th, this year’s party will provide a fantastic opportunity to view the work of hundreds of emerging artists while meeting new people and mingling with old friends. The evening will feature a variety of entertainment, accompanied by a selection of tasty food and an open bar.

Through the years, Out of Order has enabled many individuals the opportunity to begin their art collections, while providing more seasoned collectors a chance to build upon and diversify their collections. It is anticipated that artwork in this year’s Out of Order will represent a broad range of mediums and offer a tremendous selection for prospective buyers. Work will be made available during a silent auction, proceeds from which will be split 50/50 between MAP and the artist and will be used to support MAP’s exhibitions and programs throughout the year.

Current MAP members need only call to reserve their complimentary tickets. Becoming a member of MAP will entitle individuals to a year of valuable membership incentives, plus two complimentary tickets to the event (an $80 value).

Artists are invited to install one original work of art in MAP’s galleries during a twenty-four hour hang beginning 9 am, Wednesday, April 11th. Artwork must be made available for sale and will entitle artists to free admission to the party. For submission guidelines, please access MAP’s website: www.mdartplace.org. Individuals volunteering for the party on Friday, April 13th or any of the three-hour shifts during the twenty-four hour hang will also entitle them to free admission.
